Stay safe by staying alert

A reminder to check for the latest visitor advice before heading to our national parks, especially as the warmer weather increases the fire risk.

Current alerts for the Central Queensland Highlands include:

  • Blackdown Tableland National Park is closed until Monday, 25 September, because of a bushfire
  • The Salvator Rosa section of Carnarvon National Park is closed until further notice because of a wildfire
  • Wildfire smoke might affect visibility in the Mount Moffat section of Carnarvon National Park
  • Carnarvon Great Walk will be closed during the bushfire season – 2 October 2023 to 29 February 2024 – for safety reasons.

All alerts sit on the Queensland National Parks website here.
