Central Highlands Multicultural Festival

                                   Saturday 24 August 2013

    5:00pm - 10:00pm

    Emerald Showgrounds

The Central Highlands Multicultural Festival brings together communities throughout the region to celebrate our cultural diversity, and promote community awareness of multiculturalism and the benefits of living in a multicultural society. Above all, the festival provides an opportunity to embrace our common values by sharing in food, music, entertainment and most importantly, laughter!

Since its inception in 2005, the festival has gone from strength to strength and in 2012, it attracted over 6,000 people.

This year’s festival will feature an eclectic mix of performances from the Central Highland’s best dance ensembles and multicultural dance troupes, regional choirs as well as local singing sensations. There will also be plenty of fun for the young (and the young at heart!) in the Kids Zone.

All that activity is sure to make tummies rumble so festival goers can take their taste buds for a trip around the world. The festival will also feature a variety of global ale’s in the International Beer and Wine Garden.

For the third year in a row, the festival will form part of Arts in August, an arts and cultural initiative encompassing the whole of the Central Highlands region. Throughout Arts in August, a variety of cultural events, artists’ workshops, gallery displays and performance art will take place, with the month-long celebration culminating with the festival.

Gates open at 4:30pm with entertainment kicking off at 5:00pm sharp. As seating is very limited, bring chairs and/or a rug and remember that August in the Central Highlands can still be a little chilly, so pack a jacket. Designated alcohol consumption area - please leave eskies, glass and alcohol at home (no BYO).

Entry is free; however we do ask that you support the SES with a gold coin donation upon your arrival. Car parking on site is recommended for safety reasons.

The Central Highlands 2022 Community Plan indicates that our vision for 2022 is that of a region renowned for its diversity, liveability and prosperity...a region we are proud to call home! The Central Highlands Multicultural Festival is proud to do its part in ensuring this vision is achieved.
