POWER PRICE SURGE DEFENDED

QLD’s Competition Authority says it has no choice but to allow a sharp rise in power prices. From next month, the typical small business customer will face an increase of up to 17.4 percent while it’s about 13 percent for large businesses. The QCA says the alternative of setting prices below actual costs is unsustainable.
